Lucille Lewin is a South African born, London based artist working in porcelain, glass and metal.
Founder and director of Whistles, then creative director of Liberty, Lewin left fashion for a career in sculpture after recently completing her Masters at the Royal College of art in 2017.
The Reinvention of Nature, for her Masters at the Royal College of Art, which examines the body and humanity’s evolution to obsolescence, Lewin’s sculptural ceramic objects explore the relationship between form, chemistry and process. The work particularly examines the ‘Garden of Earthly Delights’ by Hieronymus Bosh. Themes of fragility and impermanence underlie ways in which we attempt to control or deny these inevitable states.
